Description: The Revd. John Talmage and Mrs Talmage of the American (Dutch) Reformed Church Mission taking tea outside their home in Amoy [Xiamen] with a group of young women missionaries. John Talmage served for 45 years in the Amoy [Xiamen] mission field, arriving in 1847.
A set of group photographs taken in the Amoy [Xiamen] mission field ca. 1890-1910. Groups include missionaries from the American (Dutch) Reformed Church, the London Missionary Society, and English Presbyterian Mission. The Xiamen mission field included Xiamen, Chuan-chow [Quanzhou], Chang-chow [Zhangzhou], Chang-pu [Zhangpu] and ?Sio-klu districts.
