Photograph of Ambrose Randall, principal of the San Jose State Normal School from 1896-1899. Ambrose Randall was born and educated in Maine, where he attended Maine Wesleyan College. He taught in Stockton and Santa Cruz before he became a member of the San José State Normal School faculty in 1884.
