Photograph is of Frank O'Reily, (left), and David Treadwell, (right). They were a gay couple and are wearing tuxedoes with bow ties. O'Reily has a carnation in his label.
Written on sleeve holding photograph: "Frank O'Reily + David Treadwell." Both of them were activists in the community. Treadwell worked diligently with the Santa Clara Valley Coalition for Human Rights to defeat the Briggs, Initiative. He was a founding member of the Susan B. Anthony Democratic Club in 1979 and was active in the development of the Billy DeFrank Lesbian and Gay Community Center where he served as secretary on the first board of directors in 1981. David was a journalist and an archivist. He had articles featured in Our Paper and the South Bay Times and he single handedly founded the San Jose Gay and Lesbian Archives housed in the Billy DeFrank Center.
