Description
Written on reverse of mount: "Studio of Andrew P. Hill in the late 1880's At the right: note the painting of the Alameda and below it the laying of the cornerstone at Stanford Univ." Most of these were destroyed by fire after the 1906 earthquake but photo prints from which the paintings were made still exist. The photo was probably taken at 79-81 West Santa Clara Street.
