“Mr Cobb’s tent. Ndabari’s buildings nearing completion & shows left to right, school, kitchen and living house. Ndabri’s is centrally situated in Chuka District & is the first permanent work to be instituted in Chuka. Except the work at Chuka Boma, which was unsuccessful & closed down.” Panoramic view of the site of an out-school of the Chogoria mission. Mr G.C. Cobb was a freelance artisan who was employed by the mission to run the workshops. He worked at Chogoria from 1924 to 1928 before leaving to join the Church Mission Society [CMS]. ❧ This image is from the first years of the Chogoria mission in Kenya, which was run by the Rev. Dr Archibald Clive Irvine (1893-1974), from the collection entitled ‘Chogoria, 1922. The early days.”
