Photograph caption dated October 20, 1962 reads, "Eleven members of Girl Scout Troop 275 have spent the last four months working on their own philanthropic project, the construction of a doll house which will be presented to the New Horizon Center, a school for retarded children in the West Valley, as a Christmas present in December. The four-room house has been completely furnished with modern conveniences made from sponges, scraps of clothes, buttons, bottle caps, powder puffs and scraps. The proud furnishers are Paula Gross, Nancy Brunner, Christine Mummy, Tena Arnesen, all of Portola Junior High School."
