"Antsahamanitra pigeasyl" ("Antsahamanitra Girls' School"). The girls and their teachers in the garden outside a small house, kitchen? This school was established in 1872 by Johanna Borchgrevink and supervised by her until 1912. Hundreds of Malagasy girls were taken care of and given education during this long period. From the left: teacher Valborg Andersen 1851-1935, Johanna Borchgrevink 1836-1924, Christian Borchgrevink 1841-1919 and sitting to the right: teacher Martha Sellaeg 1860-1921, who later married Moerland.
