Photograph was edited for publication purposes Curly Twiford was born Henry Wagstaff Twiford in Nebraska on March 10, 1896. He worked in the motion picture industry as an animal trainer during the 1940's and 50's and is most known for his work on movies such as the Wizard of Oz and The Great Rupert. He was also the owner and trainer of Jimmy the Raven, a crow that appeared in many films, including "It's a Wonderful Life." Twiford died on April 5, 1956 in Los Angeles, California. Photograph dated March 7, 1949 shows animal actor, Jimmy the Raven, pecking at a typewriter, just one of his many learned tricks. Jimmy was owned by animal trainer Curly Twiford and appeared in many popular films, a number of which have won academy awards.; See images #00111809 through #00111811 for all photos in this series.
