Description
Booklet to accompany the exhibit Continuing Traditions: Japanese Americans Story of a People 1869-1992 at the Sacramento History Museum. It contains the history of the Japanese American experience and photographs of prominent Japanese American politicians and others.
George Oki (Nisei), born March 9, 1927 to Magoichi and Masayo (nee Kamada) Oki in Sacramento, California. He was incarcerated at Pinedale Temporary Assembly Center and Poston II Incarceration Camp. He became a control tower operator in the Army Air Forces Communications System Unit in post-WWII occupied Japan at Itazuke Air Force Base in Kyushu, Japan.
