San Francisco businessman and philanthropist Walter S. Johnson stands near a door inside his home, the Augustin Bernal Adobe, which he purchased in 1940. He restored the adobe and added two rooms to it in 1945. The adobe home, also known as Rancho El Valle, is located on Foothill Road in Pleasanton, California.
