Description
Image of a certificate issued to Mark Gridley of West Hartford, Connecticut, certifying him as a lifetime member of the American Bible Society; an angel in flight holding an "Everlasting Gospel" scroll illuminates a cross on Earth below while a man kneels at the glory of an illuminated book emerging from the clouds above him.
"Designed by Miss A. Hall. Engraved by S.H. Gimber."--text, center of image. "This is to certify that Mark Gridley of West Hartford, Cont, by virtue of a contribution of thirty Dollars, made by him thro' the Connecticut Bible Society, is a Member for Life of the American Bible Society. New York, Dec. 29 1831..."--text, printed and handwritten in ink, center of image.
