"Kirche von Moravian Hope, Basutoland (mit Br. Schaberg, D. Joorst, Erw. sen., D. Joorst jun.)" ("Church of Moravian Hope, Lesotho [sic] (with Br[other] Schaberg, D. Joorst, Erw. sen., D. Joorst jun.)" please note that although the image was captioned as taken in Lesotho, the actual location was Port Elizabeth in South Africa). The front view of the church is partially blocked by a tree. A staircase leads up to the two entrance doors. A small belfry on top of the roof. In front of the stairs three men, who are the missionaries named above. The youngest one on the right must be D. Joorst junior. All are wearing suits. Br. Schaberg probably stands for Brother Willibald Paul Schaberg (born 1900), who worked as a missionary in South Africa West from 1929-1939. Daniel Joorst (1873-1958) was a teacher and missionary who worked in Moravian Hope from 1929 to 1943. His son Rudolph Joorst worked as teacher and missionary in Moravian Hope from 1938 to 1947 and in Moutonsvallei from 1947 to 1954. Possibly D. Joorst jun. is really Rudolph Joorst as no information on Daniel Joorst jun. is available.
