Description
Report describes resettlement plans by age and geographic community groups; accounts for factors in making resettlement plans including potential discrimination and violence, housing and employment opportunities, community friends and familial resettlement plans. McFarling discusses possible employment opportunities at a Hemp Mill in Shabbona, Illinois. Reports Isseis’confusion about a relocation grant form caused by language barriers. Describes the “Doi Incident”, recounting an attempted act of violence against a Japanese American man, as reported in the Lamar Daily News, January 22, 1945. This incident is also noted in [Memo_to_Province_Spicer_1945_May_11] and [Memo_to_Province_Spicer_1945_1945_Feb_6]. McFarling reports on incarcerees’ reaction to the act.
