Description
Photo taken at night shows uniformed Long Beach American Legion Official Corps Marching Band. Six drums are prominent in the front row. The band is wearing World War I style helmets. The band stands on Locust Avenue, between Ocean Boulevard and First Street. A crowd of people behind the band hold up signs for a "Marathon Dance." Building signs visible in the background include "Hotel Deluxe," "Giffords Restaurant," "Billiards," and "Long Beach Building & Loan." DATE NOTES: Circa 1929. ORIG. IMAGE: 8" x 10" B&W glossy print.
