"Same as above (Japanese dinner in Swatow in honor of departure of Mr. and Mrs. Waters. L to R, waiter, Mrs. W, Miss Emily Miller, PFC, Miss Abbie Sanderson, Mr. W. All cooked food in center of table. Sasparilla! Chop sticks in evidence.) Proves that we sat on floor. Pays to wear holeless hosiery!" [now Shantou] A group of missionaries sit around a low table on tatami mats and eat Japanese food.
