Photograph of drawing depicting a view of Main Street looking north from First Street in Los Angeles, ca.1870. The drawing, taken from a German book published in Prague, shows pedestrians walking along the sidewalk to the right and horse-drawn carriages parking next to the commercial shop fronts to the left. A boy and a woman can be partially seen next to a tree, just above the top of the picket fence depicted in the far right. Mountains are visible in the background, and the stark, bold linework gives the image a cartoonish feel. Picture file card reads "Haustraufe in L.A.".
