Description
Photograph of nine sailboats in close range of each other, ca.1940. At center is a sunlit boat manned by two people bearing the number 486 on its mast as well as a star symbol beneath a succession of three arrow-like markings. To its left is another sailboat marked with a star atop a "427" manned by two male sailors. Left of center is another sailboat bearing the number 213 on its mast as well as a single star. Boats 164 and 37[?] lie left of center, while boats 123, 364, 455 and 423 are in the back to the right. At the rightmost corner of the background is a small watercraft bearing four people. In the distance is the shoreline and a strip of houses beneath a line of utility poles.
