Five Mayan men wearing colorful clothing wait in a long line to vote on March 7, 1982. They are all wearing hats and leaning against a light blue wall. The Guatemalan government required every literate person over the age of eighteen to vote or pay a fine. They were told that they would be killed if they did not vote. Groups of Mayan men started lining up to vote at five in the morning. Cinco jóvenes mayas llevan ropa colorida mientras hacen fila para votar el 7 de marzo de 1982. Todos llevan sombrero y yacen recargados sobre una pared azul clara. El gobierno guatemalteco exigió que todas las personas alfabetizadas mayores de dieciocho años votaran o pagarían una multa.
