Title supplied by cataloger. State Route 111 runs from Calexico to Palm Springs through the Coachella Valley. It begins at a junction with Interstate 10 near the foot of San Jacinto Peak east of the San Gorgonio Pass. As it continues south, it becomes a surface street as it enters Palm Springs. It serves as a links to every desert resort city, such as Palm Springs, Palm Desert and La Quinta, in the valley. Northern Coachella Valley; looking west. The visible area is from approximately La Quinta at the left (south) to about Palm Springs at the right (north), and is located between Highway 111 and 99. Arid land completely surrounds the landscape, and the San Jacinto Mountains sprawl out in the background. Photograph dated June 16, 1956.
