Photograph caption dated April 9, 1963 reads, "Despite her smile, 9-year-old Mary Badham was a disappointed little girl Monday night when her first nomination for her first acting job in 'To Kill A Mockingbird' didn’t get her the Supporting Actress Oscar. Mary and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Badham, shown here with the youth, returned to their Birmingham, Ala., home this morning.”
