Description
The Art Deco/Gothic revivial style church, located at 10497 Wilshire Boulevard, initially opened as the Wilshire Community Church. Directly west of the structure seen here, is the original chapel (not visible) from 1929, designed by Gordon B. Kaufmann. It is known as Helms Hall in honor of Dr. Elmer E. Helms, a prominent Methodist minster who helped the church raise money during its building program.
