Description: 2 images. Old soldier overseas, 26 January 1953. Master Sergeant Wallis O. Parker -- 66 years (stationed at Fort MacArthur).
Supplementary material reads: "Gershon. city desk. Illus. Daily. Old soldier overseas. 'I'm ready to go', Master Sgt. Wallis O. Parker, 66, now stationed at Fort MacArthur, said yesterday as he received orders which will shortly send him to overseas duty. He is a great grandfather 'but' that doesn't mean anything in the Army if you are in A-1 condition. Am I? Haven't lost a day for illness since 1946. And I don't want a medical board, I'll go overseas!' He is shown reading his orders."
