Description
McKay ran a publishing press in San Jose and his interview documents the history of the printing business in San Jose in the 20th century, as well as his work publishing local history books and collecting local history. One side of McKay's family (the Barters) came to California by covered wagon in 1853 from Illinois; the other side emigrated from Scotland via Canada and Michigan. Part 3 touches on the development of the Peralta Adobe in downtown San Jose. Interviewed by Patricia Cordone.
