In 1973, Frank Robinson founded Robinson Helicopter Company, which employs about 1,200 employees. In addition to manufacturing helicopters, Robinson includes a research and development division, has an overhaul program to service older helicopters and offers educational courses for flight instructors and maintenance technicians.
Robinson Helicopter Company employees can be seen pushing a metal cart across the plant floor with two helicopter rotor blades to the next workstation. The Robinson Helicopter Company plant is located at the Torrance Airport.
