A man draws a sketch of a woman as she stands on the metal bleachers, smiling and making fists with both hands. The site of this impromptu drawing session is the L.A. Memorial Coliseum. The drawing includes the Olympic rings, and so it is presumably intended for the 1932 Olympic games being held in Los Angeles. The emblem of the Olympic games is a white flag with five interlocking rings in blue, yellow, black, green, and red respectively. The Olympic rings were designed in 1913 by Baron Pierre de Coubertin, adopted in 1914, and debuted at the Games at Antwerp in 1920. The design is symbolic; it represents the five continents of the world, united by Olympism, while the six colors are those that appear on all the national flags of the world at present time (1931).
