Photograph caption dated April 9, 1958 reads, "Nurse Kay Hemberger, 24, treats Charles R. Johnson at Sun Valley Hospital where he was taken by ambulance following powder blast at Special Effect Co. in Pacoima. He was mixing propellant compound for flare when explosion occurred. Firm manufactures pyrotechnic devices for motion picture studios."
