Photograph caption dated April 18, 1961 reads, "Eugene Volpe, 40, 6530 Colfax Ave., North Hollywood, is helped by a fellow worker, left, and an ambulance attendant, right, minutes after a pressure boiler blew up in his face at the Goodwin Chemical Co., 9241 Glenoaks Blvd. Sun Valley. Suffering from second degree burns and multiple cuts on his face and body, Volpe is in serious condition today at Glendale Memorial Hospital."
