Photograph caption dated January 18, 1960 reads, "Deputy Chief of Police John A. McAuliffe of Burbank fires the Thompson sub machine gun at range demonstration, as rangemaster Robert Steele holds old model 92 Winchester rifle. Entering in discussion, at left, Sgt. Karl Johnson, rangemaster of San Fernando Police Department. Various police weapons on display include tear gas and riot shotguns. Smoke grenade for effect only." This was taken at the police pistol training range in Wildwood Canyon, Burbank.
