Description
Photograph of the Elk's Hall and Post Office Building in Redlands, ca.1900. Two roads intersect in the left foreground while the Elk's Hall stands at the corner at center. The building is three stories tall windows around its first floor and "1903" printed at its top. Two bicycles and a horse-drawn carriage sit parked along the sidewalk in front of the building. More buildings stand down both streets to either side of the building. Photoprint reads: "Redlands beautifully situated in San Bernardino Valley, eighty miles from the ocean and sixty miles east of Los Angeles and is justly celebrated for its climate and scenery. It is known as the home of the orange. Has a population of about 12,000 with a property valuation of over $16,000,000."
