Photograph of an unidentified tumultuous river curving toward snow-capped mountains, ca.1950. The dark river runs roughly with dimples of short waves as it winds through to the snow-capped mountains in the background. Mounds of lightly-colored weeds spot the soil of the bank on the left while a short, wire fence with wooden posts stands across the fields of low bushes on the right. Dark plots of soil discolor portions of the grass field beyond the fence on the right. The stained fields continue into the background where dark spruce trees stand along the mountain's base.
