Description
Indians and yuccas near Indian Hill, Claremont, 1969. Pomona First Federal Savings and Loan Association, exterior, 393 West Foothill Boulevard (at North Indian Hill Road), Claremont. Three native Americans on horseback at Indian Hills with yuccas in bloom. Another smaller mosaic of a single Indian on a horse is near the drive-up teller window (added in 1982: designed and executed by Denis O'Connor), at the end of the parking lot. Inside the bank is a painting by Sheets (1969, 16 1/2' x 44'), which depicts an early Indian Village in the Claremont area, shortly after the arrival of the Spanish.
