Description
Photograph of Sacred Spider Rock at the entrance to Del Muerto Canyon, Canyon de Chelly, Navajo Indian Reservation, Arizona, ca.1900. Lines indicating layers can be seen in the two massive spires which stand side by side at center. The spire on the left is significantly larger than the other, but from this low perspective both appear to tower over the canyon wall behind them. Spiny plants speckle the dry ground around them.
