Description
One of the earliest films of the historic California Nursery Company, established in Niles. This film shows nursery operations, historic bulb shows, and the Roeding family. The nursery had just had their historic 1830 adobe converted into a guest lodge. Footage includes: California Nursery Rose Show, Niles 1932; Rose root stock ready for budding; Standard or tree roses; Varieties of roses; Banksia rose on front of lath house and tank house; Roeding boys; Dancing girls in Adobe garden, palm hut; Toyon Branch of Children's Hospital selling fall harvest goods; Gathering on front lawn at Roeding residence; Kawaguchi girls in kimonos; Dancing girls in flower costumes; Ornamentals in nursery rows.
