Description
Black rayon crepe dress adorned with clippings of San Jose Mercury News columnist Leigh Weimers. Signed "Looking Good Leigh Weimers" on the upper back neckline. The dress was created by Lina Broydo, who was the Fairmont Hotel's Public Relations Director when she attended an event honoring Weimers. Broydo came up with the idea after realizing that she would not be able to think of anything original to say about Weimers given all the other tributes that people would be making at the event. Broydo bought the dress and glued on Weimers' clippings. The glue caused the dress to tighten and she was unable to wear it without cutting slits in the sides, which she then closed with with bows of black gauze ribbon.
