Aerial view of the Ford Motor Company, Mercury Plant site located at 8900 E. Washington Boulevard in Pico Rivera; view is looking west. The plant, still under construction, is located on the corner of Rosemead Boulevard (bottom left corner) and Washington Boulevard (bottom middle to middle right); Paramount Boulevard runs diagonally at upper middle (middle right to upper left), and Rio Hondo parallels it at extreme top. The 157-acre manufacturing facility was dedicated on May 6, 1948; the plant closed in 1980 and was purchased by Northrop Grumman in 1982. Photograph dated November 2, 1956.
