Description
Photograph caption dated February 12, 1955 reads, "That's the theme of the big Dollar Day scheduled for next Friday by the North Hollywood Retail Merchants Committee. And just to prove there's uranium values in the approaching Dollar Day, John Benkart, right, instructor in mineralogy and geology at North Hollywood Adult Evening School, points geiger counter at the Dollar Day sign and registers a rich 'strike.' Merrill Burnside, left, chairman of the event, Stella Stinchcomb and Raymond Redares join in the 'prospecting.'"
