Description
Connie and Matt begin the interview discussing the setting of the novel and its basic plot. They proceed to discuss the idea of invention and retention of rights to the invention in a university environment before moving on to consider how academia relates to the narrative, specifically the main character, Jake Rove. Connie and Matt go on to talk about Matt’s approach to writing and his early motivation to begin a literary career before considering the similarities between the fields of economics and literature, and Matt’s personal influences and connections that encouraged his path. Connie and Matt proceed to discuss his future projects, and his upbringing as an only child, before returning to the particulars of the plot and how long the book took to complete. Connie closes the interview requesting an autograph for her copy of the book.
