Photograph of two bells in front of the Mission San Juan Bautista, photographed by Edward Vischer, before 1875. Two bells hang chained from a wooden frame, the larger hanging to the right. A picket fence cuts beneath them, behind which an individual in dark clothing can be seen standing inf ront of the adobe wall of the two-story mission. To the right, a wooden door in a brick adobe wall can be seen, overhung by terracotta tiles. Overgrown grass covers the patch of lawn in front.
