A 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony was held next to the Los Angeles Fire Department's 23-ton 9/11 Memorial, a steel column formerly part of the World Trade Center lobby structure. Several dignitaries were in attendance, including Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa; Council members Dennis P. Zine (3rd District), Tom LaBonge (4th District), and Eric Garcetti (13th District); not visible in this photo, Police Chief William J. Bratton, and Sheriff Lee Baca, among others. The memorial honors the 343 New York firefighters killed in the attacks. Believed to be the largest remnant of the attacks on the West Coast, the column now rests at the Frank Hotchkin Memorial Training Center, located at 1700 Stadium Way, in Elysian Park. Similar to photo 00063417. Photo dated: September 11, 2005.
