Description
Photograph of the painting "Joan of Arc Listening to Voices" by Jules Bastien-Lepage, 1880. Joan is pictured at the right in a peasant's outfit, staring wide-eyed out of the frame. In the background behind her, the forest and what appears to be a weaving spindle conspire to create the translucent image of a knight. Picture file card reads "Bought by Aldin Weir for Erwin Davis of New York, who put it in the Boston Museum".
