Description
In the wake of the October 17, 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake, Caltrans commissioned an oral history project to document the personal and professional experiences of Caltrans employees who worked to restore the State's damaged transportation system. At the time of the Loma Prieta Earthquake Charles “Chuck” Ingalls Morton III was a Senior Environmental Planner for Caltrans District 4 in San Francisco. This recording describes his personal earthquake experience in San Francisco, CA and what it was like to work at 150 Oak Street right after the earthquake. Morton was part of the Loma Prieta Oral History Project, where he conducted interviews of Caltrans employees on their experience of the Loma Prieta Earthquake.
