4 images. Kid knits for Korea, 01 January 1952. Judith Zane (knits sweater) 11 years. Supplementary material reads: "Gershon. City desk. Illus. Kid knits for Korea. Eleven-year-old Judith Zane begins to knit a sweater for 'some soldier in Korea' as part of family New Year's resolutions. Each year family of merchant marine skipper Henry Zane, 1316 Paseo Del Mar, San Pedro, now at sea, makes resolutions. Judy overheard her mother, Dorothy, talking to a friend, Mrs. Lavonne Olsen of 10517 San Vicente, South Gate, who remarked that her son, Private First Class Lawrence Olsen had complained about the bitter cold in Korea. So, said Judy yesterday, 'I heard Mrs. Olsen say she was sending a lot of warm things to Lawrence so I thought there must be other soldiers out there who need warm clothers. So, I just began to knit this sweater as my New Year's resolution'".
