Description
Photographic portrait of land owner Dona Plummer, Hollywood, California, [s.d.]. Ms. Plummer, who obtained a "Spanish" land grant at Santa Monica Boulevard and Farden Street in 1869 raised cattle and sheep there. She is pictured here, in bust, facing the camera with a dark veil drawn back behind her shoulders. It is topped by a buckle. Her dress seems to be decorated by a ruffle of ribbons along the front and encloses her body all the way up to her neck. She appears tight-lipped, with her eyebrows almost invisible above her dark eyes.
