Description
Photograph of a monolith at the center of an enclosed courtyard at Camp Kearny, ca.1950. The tall, rought-cut stone slab is pictured at center, affixed with a plaque and flanked by mortar shells. To the right, a wheeled cannon can be seen behind one of the various trees that lines the inside of the stone wall marking the monument's perimeter. This was later the site of United States Navy Air Field in Miramar.
