Image of an advertisement for Trilby the Fairy of Argyle by Charles Nodier and translated by Minna Caroline Smith featuring a fairy kissing a woman on the cheek; decorative oval frame made up of dandelions and spider webs.
Item originally owned by illustrator Curtis Wager-Smith (1870-1950). Date supplied by cataloger based on book publication date; Trilby the fairy of Argyle translated by Minna Caroline Smith was published in 1895. "E. Reed"--text, artist's signature on stone, bottom right of image. "Translated from the French of Charles Nodier by Minna Caroline Smith."--text, top center margin. "Lamson, Wolffe & Co. 6 Beacon Street Boston Scotch Plaid Boards 50 cts. Sold Here."--text, bottom center margin.
