Photograph of Indian sheep shearers at Camulos Ranch, Ramona's home, 1885. A group of 29 Indian sheep shearers (Esquintadors -- Trasquiladores), 16 of which are men and the rest are women and children, can be seen standing on a slight slope in front of a thatched roof adobe(?) building. Sitting among the men are a few chairs. One man sits on a horse. The ground is covered with scrub brush and a few other plants. Mountains are visible in the background. Image is a crop of CHS-187.
