Description
This view of K Street looking East from Fourth, taken circa 1960 depicts an excavation of a full city block with the Hotel Coloma (508 K Street), Gallenkamp's Shoes (500 K Street), Breuner's (600 K Street), and Fred's Market (1105 Fifth Street) in the background. There is traffic moving along Fifth toward K Street. A crane is parked in the center of the excavation site but there was no work going on at the time this photograph was taken.
