The Gagosian Gallery, once an art gallery and apartment building, was designed by Studio Works architects Craig Hodgetts, Robert Mangurian, with assistance from Frank Lupo. Located at 51 Market Street in Venice, the gallery, built between 1978 and 1980, was named among the 200 most significant L.A. buildings of the past 200 years for the Los Angeles Bicentennial Celebration. Photograph caption dated August 29, 1980 reads, "The interior of the Gagosian Gallery is the heart of the Venice building."
