Description
Three weeks after the 71st Rose Bowl Game, hundred of volunteers dig in to prune rose bushes and plant 1,000 new ones at the Pasadena stadium on "Super Rose Bowl Sunday." Lathrop "Lay" Leishman, a member of the Tournament of Roses Football Committee who coordinated the rose planting ceremony, was cheered on by Rose Queen Kristina Smith and her royal court. Leishman's father organized the construction of the stadium in the early 1920s. Photo dated: January 21, 1985.
