Description
Photograph of a procession of more than fifty little orphan girls with about five Dominican sisters at Mission San Jose, 1904. They are standing on a wide dirt path on the well-manicured mission grounds. The path runs from the foreground into the left background. Several of the girls hold banners. Two of the sisters can be seen in light-colored robes to the right of the procession. Palms and other trees can be seen growing on the lawns in the background. Legible banners read: "Mater salva"..., "Mater [...]rissima", "Mater intema"..., "Vas insigne devotion", "Mater inviolata", "Regina sine lobe concepto, ora pro nobis".
